Matt Sanfilippo

In November 1993, Matt Sanfilippo joined the United States Air Force in the Aerospace Ground Equipment Maintenance division. After four months of training in Wichita Falls, TX, Matt was stationed at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, NV.
While at Nellis, Matt was responsible for maintaining all of the ground power units (GPUs) that ensured on-ground aircraft sustainment. In addition to the expectation of perfection, Matt and his team worked outdoors, which in Vegas can sometimes reach up to 125 degrees!
Being a part of the Air Force on a team which had such a critical support role taught Matt many life lessons. Most importantly, he learned that it was imperative to get it right the first time by being highly attentive to detail. Mistakes resulted in accidents or deaths due to the sensitivity of the equipment Matt and his team maintained.
In 1997, Matt retired from the Air Force to attend university, where he was introduced to the field of Human Resources. Working in Human Resources allowed Matt to combine what the Air Force taught him about working as a team and attention to detail in an environment where he could constantly be introduced to new and interesting individuals.
After five years with Harrah's Entertainment in Tunica, MS, as the Manager of Employee Relations, Matt joined The Service Companies as the Director of Human Resources, Eastern Division.
Thank you to Matt for his service to the country.
